This is a weird one…

A friend send it to me… it was published just a short while ago.

It’s a message from someone inside the Enlightened camp. If it’s real (and I’ve got to be honest, I’m kind of hoping it isn’t) it spells bad news for Klue.

Read the post and let me know what you think…

Hi. I am posting this publicly because I want everyone out there who is using the ‘Ingress’ app and who thinks it’s fun to be ‘Enlightened,’ that there is a very serious side to this.

I got into this at the University of Michigan during my senior year during finals. I was super stressed and I needed a way to clear my head so I could get through it. I saw a poster on a tree near the Student Union. I went to a meetup and a girl I knew from bio showed up. She helped me level up. She told me to sign up for the Enlightened.

Fast forward two and a half years. I moved to California. Worked some coding gigs. Took some time off to learn how to kitesurf and ended up in San Luis Obispo. Kind of random I know but it’s a fun town and Pismo beach is awesome.

Anyway, I kept playing Ingress. A lot. I went to a few anomalies. And I met a bunch of you. It was all ‘fun.’ I was running with a pretty wild crowd and I remember Joe Philley telling me to be careful. I didn’t listen. One night, a girl, lets leave her nameless for now, suggests that we all go down to the Enlightened compound. She claims she knows where it is. Seemed like a good idea at the time. But then again, lots of things seem like a good idea at 2Am.

We drove all night but we finally found it. I met Jarvis there, briefly, before he got sick. Then this woman who has been hanging round him starts calling herself ‘the Acolyte.’ Says Jarvis asked her to take charge. If you ask me she’s just a nutcase. Or maybe just a drama queen. Wouldn’t quit talking about her messed up family. As if the rest of us don’t have our own issues.

But the food was good and I met some people. We built out the camp. My job was to educate everyone about how they weren’t supposed to use any ‘unvetted’ tech at the camp. We built out a gateway and started filtering everyone’s Internet traffic. That should have clued me in that something was up.

But it was the thing with Klue that pushed me over the edge. They brought her in and took to her to a place on the backside of the camp. I saw her a little over a week ago, just after San Diego (yeah, people around the camp were super happy about that). I read the stuff online, about how Jarvis was supposedly using her to get some kind of data which could be used against ADA but thought it was a bunch of BS. But then I saw for myself.

The Acolyte had me put in some special equipment to block wireless signals around the cabin. I wasn’t supposed to go inside but it wasn’t working and I wanted to test it. I knocked and no one answered. The ‘helpers’ who were taking care of the place had gone to main camp to get food. When I pushed open the door I saw her in the back part of the cabin. This thing was stitched onto her face. Some kind of display. Her skin was totally white. She was kind of whispering, but I couldn’t tell what she was saying. It was awful.

Then I heard the guys coming back. I shut the door and ducked back out to the equipment shed before they saw me. That’s when I decided I had to do something. I want to warn all of you. You need to understand what you are doing. I know XM can help some people. It’s helped me. I still use the Scanner and I’m not going to stop but you have realize that your actions have consequences. Stay away from the compound and stay away from the Acolyte. It’s hard to explain. When you are here, you don’t want to leave. And I’m not sure you can. I’m sending this msg around the firewall. Once it goes out I know they are going to start looking for me. I am afraid.

But someone needs to help Klue, if she can still be helped.
