Jahan’s Response: The Force of Time
I had a feeling that we would hear a rebuttal to the Acolyte’s anti-AI message from yesterday, and I was right… I received this statement earlier from an address associated with high-ranking Resistance operatives…
It is telling that even as the Acolyte seeks to proselytize about the evils of technological progress, the commentary piece she linked to sees the world in a different light: the author of that article is hopeful… cautiously optimistic.
There is a reason for that.
As our world and societies grow more complex, so too must our tools. Artificial intelligence is no different than the printing press, the steam engine, manned flight, the circuit board. It is a new hope that will empower us to face a new array of challenges.
Society as we know it exists because technological shifts enabled us to take bold step upon bold step forward. We used these steps to spread knowledge, to expand cities, to connect distant places and people, to elevate access to information and systems.bh.bcfj.f.fhjjgh.bbcd.d.cj.d
Society, as it exists, needs AI. The complexity of the problems we face demands it.
To deny this fact is to deny the force of time — it is to yearn for the stone age.
There may be some romantic value in a vision of humanity sitting around a campfire with nothing but a pure feeling in their hearts — but such a vision is both ludicrous and irresponsible.
